Q: How do I set up a journal alert in an EBSCOhost database, like Academic Search Complete?

You can set up alerts in EBSCOhost for new articles in a journal, or any other search that you create.

First, go to the database where the journal is found. You can look that up using the “Journals” list, linked from the library homepage.

In EBSCOhost databases, you need to create an account to get alerts. Do that by clicking on Sign In, then Create a New Account. Use whatever login info you wish.

Back in the database, search for the name of the journal as a journal-title using the JN code, e.g. JN “Augustinian Studies”.

Click Alert/Save/Share, then Create an alert: Email alert. Then the Create Alert options appear.
