Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan lets you request books from other libraries to be sent to UST.  Submit your request using the Request a Book or Request an Article form.

Fill in as much of the item's publication information as possible.  Items generally take 7-14 days to arrive and will be available for pickup at the Circulation Desk or (for articles) delivered via email.

TexShare and Rice Borrowing

A Texshare card lets you borrow books directly from other libraries in the area. You can get the card free from the Doherty Library Circulation Desk. Rice University is a special case; both TexShare and the Rice Reciprocal Borrowing Program are explained on the Interlibrary Loan page.

WorldCat

Find out what books other libraries have using WorldCat. This database lets you search the catalogs of thousands of libraries simultaneously, and tells you which local libraries own a certain book. Use either the WorldCat database or the free WorldCat.org website.

Houston Public Library

If you have a Texas address, you are eligible for a free Houston Public Library card. A card provides access to HPL's extensive collections and online databases. Cards can be obtained at any HPL branch. The Freed-Montrose branch of HPL is located on the UST campus.
