To locate a book in Doherty, you will need to have the book's call number from the library catalog.
General Book Collection
Books with call numbers beginning A-E are on the first floor, west wing (to the right as you enter the library). Books with call numbers beginning F–P are on the second floor, moving alphabetically from west to east. Books with call numbers beginning Q-Z are in the library basement, also from west to east. Shelves and areas of the library are labelled with their call number ranges.
Reference and Special Collections
Books in the Reference Collection and other special collections are ordered by call number within those collection areas. The Reference Collection and Elllis Collections are on the first floor, east wing, and the Graduate Philosophy Collection is on the 2nd floor, west wing.
Reading Call Numbers
Read the call number in alpha-numeric order, from the top down.
