Q

Can I request a print book or article from off campus?

The catalog or journals list shows that an item I want is available in print or microform at Doherty Library, but I live off campus and do not want to visit the library. Can I have the item sent to me?

Answer

If we own a book you want, you must come to Doherty to pick it up.  But you can renew it online.  You can also mail it back.  This saves you at least one trip!

If we own a journal article in print or fiche, we can email a copy to you.  Send us an email with all the appropriate information (author, title, title of journal, publication information, ISBN or ISSN number and page numbers).  Requests for journal articles cannot be filled without this information.

Only five requests for articles can be made from each individual journal per semester.  If we deny your request for an article, this is the reason.  However, this does not prevent you from coming to Doherty yourself and making a copy.
